I began coaching in 2008 in various forms. I began his women’s coaching career at Heyside Ladies as assistant manager before taking the reins as manager after two seasons when the manager stepped down. After finding his feat in the women’s game in 2022 Ashley moved to Crompton FC forming a women’s team leading them to a divisional championship win and a cup final in their first season together. After gaining promotion Crompton went on to finish 3rd on equal points with second place.

Ashley moved to Hyde United in 2024 to continue his football journey whilst not having the pressures of being manager.
